While a furnace’s efficiency rating is certainly something to be considered, the highest rated furnace isn’t necessarily the best furnace to have in your home. While a higher efficiency furnace will certainly save you money while it’s running, the increased installation and repair costs of the top tier furnace grades can actually make the best furnaces less cost-effective over their lifespans. While “the best furnace grade” is not necessarily the best for your home, “the worst furnace grade” is certainly the worst for your home, and we strongly discourage you from selecting the lowest furnace grade for use in a cold weather climate like ours.
